YALE -- Black ribbons are tied to the trees along Main Street, a reminder that this small city in St. Clair County is in mourning. Many of the 2,063 residents still struggle to comprehend the bloody attack on a popular local couple, Mara and Paul Skinner, in their bed at their home on South Main Street earlier this month. Today, Mara Skinner, a well-liked teacher, coach and mother, faces the prospect of testifying against her 17-year-old daughter and two young men accused of stabbing her 47-year-old husband to death and trying to kill her.
