| Guam DepCor Criticized For Inmate Phone Work |

Guam - Public Safety Oversight Chair Senator Adolpho Palacios is urging the Department of Corrections to re-evaluate the answering of phone calls by inmates. Palacios sent a letter to DepCor acting director Lieutenant Antone Aguon after a distraught constituent called his office, saying that she was shocked when an inmate answered a call she made to the agency. While he supports the permitting of inmates assisting staff in the office by performing simple chores, Palacios recommends that incoming calls be first greeted with a recording message informing callers that an inmate may answer the phone.
