| Parolee Leads Bike, Foot Chase |

A 35-year-old Woodland parolee at large tried to evade police by bicycle in the late afternoon Wednesday. Police spotted Denver Thomas Roberts at the corner of West and Elliott streets just after 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to a press release issued by the Woodland Police Department. Police, on learning Roberts was wanted by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, approached Roberts but he sped away on his bicycle and hid behind a parked van. He fled again as police neared him, abandoning his bicycle and running through a nearby yard into an alleyway near Grand and Elliott streets, where he again hid. Read More. |
