| Man To Serve Time For Assaulting Young Girl |

A 35-year-old rural Dayton man was sentenced to prison Thursday in a La Salle County courtroom for sexual abuse of a girl younger than 17 for acts committed in 2007 and again in 2008. Richard A. Crowl, 3112 E. 1951st Road, previously pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse in an extended case, in which he changed attorneys several times. He was arrested on March 3, 2008. The incidents occurred in his home. Crowl has no previous criminal history. Circuit Court Judge Cynthia Raccuglia sentenced Crowl to six years in the Department of Corrections and two years of mandatory release supervision upon sentence completion.
