COVINGTON, Ind. — Fountain County officials revisited the jail issue Monday at a joint meeting of the Fountain County commissioners and council. “Four years ago we had a study to build a new jail,” said Walt Wilson, chairman of the commissioners. “Since then we have done a lot of work on the old jail, but we have only 25 beds.” Wilson said deputies spend a lot of time transferring inmates to and from nearby jails. Wilson invited RQAW, consulting engineers and architects of Indianapolis, to study the existing jail and what needs to be done to add on to it. Read More. |
