An alleged fugitive Arab prince convicted of killing a Cambridge dad with his BMW can’t “have (his) cake and eat it, too” by asking the state’s highest court to forgive and forget him while thumbing his royal nose at its rules, Suffolk prosecutor John Zanini argued yesterday. The Supreme Judicial Court took under advisement a request by lawyers for Saudi royal Bader Al-Saud to wipe clean a default warrant outstanding for his arrest since 2008 — which is when probation officials claim they first discovered he’d walked out of a Martha’s Vineyard jail on July 20, 2006, and boarded a flight home in first class without notifying them. Probation officials couldn’t explain to a judge in 2008 why two years passed before they noticed Al-Saud was missing, nor could they explain it to the Herald yesterday. Read More. |
