| Fortune Heir Dies In PA Prison |

(NewsCore) - John du Pont, an heir to the DuPont chemical company fortune and the convicted murderer of an Olympic wrestler, died in prison Thursday, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported. Du Pont, 72, was found unresponsive in his cell at the state prison at Laurel Highlands in Somerset County, Pa. Sue Bensinger, a spokeswoman for the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, said he had been ill and died of natural causes. Du Pont was convicted of third-degree murder for shooting and killing wrestler David Schultz in 1996. Shultz, a 1984 gold medalist, had been living in a house on du Pont’s estate, where the millionaire had built a wrestling training facility. Read More. |
