| Prisoners Doing Good Deeds For Homeless |

This morning, hundreds of homeless children in Sioux Falls will put on winter hats knitted by convicted felons. Others will get a wooden toy for Christmas, carved and painted by a prison inmate, and still others will receive a hand-knit doll. Each item represents the charitable work of prisoners at the South Dakota State Penitentiary. Directed by the warden and prison staff, the charity work spikes during the holidays and expands each season. On Sunday, the goodwill efforts will take a whole new twist with a charity pizza sale that will raise $3,000 to $4,000 for the Salvation Army. Read More. |
