Man Sentenced For Violent VA Robberies

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - A convicted felon was sentenced to 35 years Tuesday for a stabbing and robbery that occurred at the Super 8 Motel on Atlantic Avenue in Virginia Beach two years ago.

Gerry Warren Jr., 30, of Gary, Indiana, pleaded guilty on April 7, 2010 for aggravated malicious wounding, robbery, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, Virginia Beach Commonwealth's Attorney Harvey L. Bryant said in a news release.

Had this matter gone to trial, the Commonwealth's evidence would have proved that on September 20, 2008, Warren, along with co-defendants Richard Culver and Brandon Jarvis, forced their way into a room at the Super 8 Motel armed with a handgun and a knife.
