A prison employee filed a complaint against the Wisconsin Department of Corrections on Wednesday claiming he was passed over for job opportunities because he oversaw an investigation that concluded that another guard sexually assaulted five inmates. Chris S. Kuchinski, of Hartford, said he became the object of threats and harassment when his 2008 investigation — done at a warden's request — revealed that a fellow guard had sexually assaulted five male inmates. Kuchinski said the DOC failed to stop the harassment against him, then demoted him and blocked his attempts to transfer into other positions. "This is a guy who did the right thing," said Peter Fox, Kuchinski's attorney. "He investigated, his conclusion was validated and corroborated, and the very same people who should have been applauding him abandoned him instead." Read More. |
