TRAVERSE CITY — Local young people regularly browse through popular websites like Facebook and MySpace. School administrators are aware of the ongoing trend and want to ensure their students understand what's appropriate to post on the Internet. One recent incident supported Traverse City Area Public Schools officials' prior decision to issue a handbook that addresses Internet safety: A Traverse City school janitor stalked and threatened two students. Walter "Wally" Lucas worked as a TCAPS janitor since 1997, but school officials fired him early this year amid allegations he solicited naked images of a male student over the Internet, then stalked the teen and his girlfriend.
