Chandler Police arrested a woman suspected of stealing more than $300 from the memorial account for Det. Carlos Ledesma Monday.

Spokesman Sgt. Joe Favazzo said police discovered an unauthorized electronic debit was processed in the memorial account set up for the fallen officer on Aug. 10.

The money had been transferred to a T-Mobile account and investigators linked the account to its owner, Stephanie Pringle of Chandler, Favazzo said.

He said the stolen $302.73 was used to pay for a cell phone bill.

Although Pringle initially denied stealing the money from the memorial account, investigators tracked down the date of the transaction and the determined Pringle was at her home on that date. The transfer from the Wells Fargo bank account to the T-Mobile payment was made from Pringle’s home computer, Favazzo said.
