| No More Parole For Sex Offender |

SANTA ANA - A convicted child rapist's parole was revoked Wednesday, giving Orange County prosecutors time to file a petition declaring him a sexually violent predator, a move that could keep him in custody indefinitely if approved. Lawrence Joseph Brown, 52, was arrested on suspicion of violating parole Nov. 17 just after being released from prison. Brown was not allowed to drive in vehicles with women, but his girlfriend picked him when he was released from the California Institution for Men in Chino, Orange County District Attorney Tony Rackauckas said. The Department of Corrections revoked his parole today and was sentenced to 90 days in prison, Rackauckas said. That will give prosecutors enough time to seek a petition declaring him a sexually violent predator. Read More. |
