Deputies on Sunday morning arrested a man wanted in connection with a fatal Christmas Eve stabbing after finding him in a Quincy hotel, said Lt. Jim Corder of the Gadsden County Sheriff's Office. Marvin Cannon, 31, of Quincy, was found around 10:30 a.m. at the Quincy Inn on Cooper Street in Quincy, Corder said, after investigators received a tip that he was staying there. Cannon refused to come out of the room, Corder said, so deputies entered using a master key from the hotel. Cannon surrendered without incident, Corder said, and was arrested on charges of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and first-degree robbery. He is being held in the Gadsden County Jail. The sheriff's office released the names of the two victims Sunday evening. According to Corder, Zechariah Morgan, 58, of Marianna, died from his injuries. Sean Neel, 42, of Chattahoochee, was treated for multiple stab wounds and released from Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Read More. |
