| Prison Rodeo Could Reopen |

Mcalester, Okla. (AP) — The McAlester City Council will consider a proposal next month that could revive the Oklahoma State Prison Rodeo that was called off this year because of budget cuts. Department of Corrections spokesman Jerry Massie said his agency is interested in having a rodeo in 2011, but officials are concerned about the safety of the arena, built in the 1950s. Mayor Kevin Priddle told the Tulsa World last week that the City Council will consider a measure at its Jan. 11 meeting that would provide $66,000 from a city tourism account to pay for materials needed to fix up the arena.
