| Brevard inmate tries suicide for fourth time |

Authorities at the Brevard County (Fla.) Jail said they've stopped the fourth suicide attempt by the same inmate in the same month. Officials said 19-year-old Corey Lautkin has been on a 24-hour suicide watch but was able to take six strands from mattress seams while under the covers. They said he tried to hang himself last Sunday, but jailers stopped him. It's the same method Lautkin used for a suicide attempt May 4. Authorities said other inmates saw what was happening last Sunday and banged on a window to get jailers' attention. Lautkin is being held on a probation violation charge stemming from a burglary case. |
