| RI Murder Suspect Has History In Jail |

PROVIDENCE –– The mother wailed her grief on the icy sidewalk in front of the house where her son was murdered. People stared from slowly passing cars on the narrow snow-banked street late Monday afternoon. Passersby dodging the snowy sidewalks watched as a son and daughter tried to hold up their mother, as she screamed in Spanish and fell to her knees in front of the unlit candles in a snow-covered memorial. Yellow police tape was still wrapped on a young tree in the snow bank. We want justice! Justice! Marion Vazquez shouted in a hoarse voice. Pedro J. Dejesus, 30, was shot to death in a bedroom inside the apartment 112 Academy Ave., where he lived with his longtime girlfriend, Della Power. The police say the couple had argued over him playing music too loud Sunday morning. When the argument got physical, the police say, Power’s 19-year-old nephew, Dujuan Powell, pulled out a gun and shot Dejesus –– killing him in front of Power’s 10-year-old son. Read More. |
