The recently elected governor of Florida has hired the Indiana correction commissioner to run the Florida prison system. Rick Scott, who was elected Florida's governor in November, appointed Edwin G. Buss to the Florida post on Tuesday. Buss will replace Walt McNeil at the Florida Department of Corrections. "I am grateful that Ed Buss is coming to Tallahassee to help me change the way the Department of Corrections does business here in Florida," Scott said in a Tuesday statement released by his office. "I know he is ready to get-to-work to ensure our prisons operate most efficiently and cost-effectively." Read More. |
