| Victims In County Can Now Track Criminals |

Wood County crime victims and other residents now have the security of knowing they can track offenders through the jail system. Wisconsin Victim Information and Notification Everyday, known as WI-VINE, provides offenders' custody status, locations and, if available, release dates. Anyone concerned about a particular inmate can sign up to receive a phone call or e-mail alert when the inmate is released from jail, said Lt. Andrew Netz, Wood County Jail administrator. VINE also is an important resource for law enforcement, said Adam Grosz, police chief of the town of Rome in Adams County, which has been part of the system since April. "It's a valuable databasethat can be accessed 24 hours a day," Grosz said. "We don't have to call the jail or clerk of courts to get the information." Read More. |
