Guam - Governor-elect Eddie Calvo selected some of the heads of public safety agencies today. “As our population rises, safety becomes a bigger concern coupled with bigger challenges,” Governor-elect Calvo said. “These men will take a no-nonsense approach to the safety of our families. I’m happy they have answered the call to serve.” Four selections were made today: 1. Capt. Fred Bordallo, MPA, MHR will be the Chief of Police 2. Major Mike Carey (Ret.) will be Homeland Security Advisor 3. MGySgt. Joe San Agustin (Ret.) will be the Director of the Department of Corrections 4. Adonis Mendiola will be the Director of the Department of Youth Affairs Governor-elect Calvo plans to increase police presence in our neighborhoods, create education programs in schools to prevent crime, and establish community programs involving officers. “Captain Bordallo knows community involvement is an important step to prevent crime. As Chief of Police, Capt. Bordallo will be tough on crime, while implementing these important prevention programs,” Governor-elect Calvo said. Read More. |
