GULFPORT, Miss. -- Two Flowood Community Work Center inmates who escaped early Wednesday morning made it more than 150 miles south before being recaptured in Gulfport, according to the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Bridgette Lamey, 50, and Terri Sanderford, 40, were discovered missing from the center, on Miss. 80 in Flowood, around 3:15 a.m. The pair was picked up around 10:30 a.m. after a citizen saw them wandering around a Gulfport apartment complex, MDOC spokeswoman Tara Booth said. The citizen had seen their photos on WLOX earlier that morning, she said. Lamey is serving a 10-year sentence for convictions of credit card fraud and uttering forgery in Harrison County.
