Pitt County deputies on Sunday arrested and charged a Greenville man in connection with a Saturday night shooting. Daquan Martail Boone, 21, of 1000 Colonial Ave. was confined to the Pitt County Detention Center and charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. Boone was arrested between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. Sundayand charged with the shooting of Arturo Rodriguez, 35, a sheriff's office spokeswoman said. Further details are expected at a news conference scheduled for this afternoon. Rodriguez was walking on the street outside 1706 Charles Buck Road about 6:30 p.m. — while neighbors and children were out — when a passing car, described as a silver or blue compact, drove by and opened fire on him with a handgun, a sheriff's official said.
