| New Oprah Show Goes Behind Bars |

Like so many others, I spent some of my first day of 2011 watching the debut of Oprah Winfrey's new cable network OWN. And much to my surprise, I noticed a familiar face during one of the previews for a series to launch on the network this summer. "Breaking Down the Bars" gives viewers a look inside the Rockville Correctional Facility in Indiana, as the cameras follow a group of women who struggle with incarceration. With the help of therapist Dr. Stephanie Covington, the show is described by producers as "diving deep inside the female inmates' stories and those of their loved ones." This show will even feature a famous theme song created by pop star Seal, who wrote "Weight of My Mistakes" specifically for the OWN series "Breaking Down the Bars." Read More. |
