| Several Prisons In Environmental Trouble |

The Environmental Protection Agency has fined several area prisons for numerous air pollution violations. The prisons include The State Correction Institution at Laurel Highlands, Rockview and Huntingdon. EPA officials said all of the facilities had boilers that were emitting dangerous pollutants that could cause breathing problems. The Department of Corrections must pay $300,000 and each prison will have to upgrade their boilers to reduce emissions. Read More. |
