Police are looking for four men who escaped Davenport’s residential corrections facility and later crashed a stolen car on a Rock Island bike path Wednesday night. Danterrius Harris, 21; Deven Jeffrey White, 18; and Austin James Mitchell, 22, fled through a fire escape at the facility at 1330 W. 3rd St. at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, setting off an alarm, Jim Wayne, regional director of the Iowa Department of Corrections, said. At 7:32 p.m., Ontario Bester, 21, checked out of the facility saying he was going to work but instead went to borrow a car from his girlfriend in Bettendorf, Wayne said. Bester’s employer told staff at the facility that Bester had called in sick. The car that Bester allegedly borrowed from his girlfriend, an Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera, was seen fleeing Rock Island police about 8:45 p.m. Wednesday when it entered the bike trail near Sylvan Slough.
