RANTOUL — A Rantoul man was arrested over the weekend in connection with a shooting late Friday night in Rantoul. According to a Rantoul police report, police arrested Steven D. Monroe, 27, who listed an address in Rantoul, for unlawful use of weapons by a felon, aggravated discharge of a firearm and possession of marijuana. There was also a warrant issued for his arrest for an Illinois Department of Corrections parole violation, police said. Rantoul police Sgt. Justin Bouse said officers were called to the 600 block of Heath Drive in Rantoul at 11:55 p.m. Friday after receiving a report of somebody being shot. Read More. |
