BAY CITY — A Bangor Township woman accused of going on a joyride in a stolen ambulance days after being placed on probation has entered into a plea deal in Bay County Circuit Court. Friday, Hydi M. Danks, 32, appeared before Circuit Judge Joseph K. Sheeran and pleaded no contest to larceny from a person, assaulting, resisting or obstructing police and reckless driving. In exchange, prosecutors agreed to dismiss two counts of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and single counts of motor vehicle theft and operating a motor vehicle without the proper license, court records show. Prosecutors allege that on July 10, Danks stole an ambulance from a Bay Regional Medical Center barn at 110 Washington St. She abandoned the vehicle near the intersection of Sixth and Saginaw streets, where she stole a cell phone from a bystander and fled.
