KS Police, DOC Get Help From Newspaper

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City's Most Wanted newspaper passed a historic milestone recently.

The publication helped police clear the 200th arrest of people who appeared in the newspaper.

Police said Tuesday that Kansas City's Most Wanted, along with the TIPS hotline, has generated numerous felony arrests thanks to the people who read the publication and have become involved in helping police.

The KCPD along with the Johnson County Sheriff's Department and the Department of Corrections said Tuesday that the publication and TIPS hotline are important in getting arrests made. Last year, nearly 500 felony cases were cleared and more than $142,000 in property was recovered, police said.
