| Charges Filed Against Prison Guard |

A prison guard at Apalachee Correctional Institution has been charged with being a principal to felony battery on an inmate at the prison in June of last year. After being booked on the charge Monday, Blountstown resident Terry Blair, 39, was granted a conditional release from the county jail. In a report about the alleged incident, filed by the Department of Corrections’ Office of the Inspector General, the behavior of several other prison employees was discussed. However, criminal charges have not been filed against any other prison employee. An investigation of the case is ongoing, according to Department of Corrections public information officer Jo Ellyn Rackleff. The information filed by State Attorney Glenn Hess alleges that Blair aided in an attack on an inmate that “caused great bodily harm, permanent disability or permanent disfigurement.” Read More. |
