COOKEVILLE -- A Putnam County jail inmate has been charged with aggravated assault after allegedly biting a jail corrections officer. Weylin Trent Strode, 42, of Celina Street, Livingston, was in jail in connection with previous charges when he picked up the additional charge on Saturday, according to a warrant taken by Putnam Jail Corrections Officer Tyler Turner. That warrant says that Officer Turner was performing his regular duties at the jail when he came into contact with Strode, who was instructed to "get off a concrete bunk." Allegedly, Strode refused to get off the bunk and "other officers attempted to take control of him," the warrant says. Read More. |
