| Fire Causes Problems At KS Jail |

WICHITA, Kansas -- The Sedgwick County Jail was on lockdown after a small fire in the ceiling Wednesday morning. Around 6 a.m., an external electrical transformer apparently failed. According to Sheriff Robert Hinshaw, the failure caused some sort of electrical surge inside the Sedgwick County Detention Facility. Deputies immediately discovered and extinguished a small fire in the ceiling where power runs throughout the building. Some of those deputies were later treated for possible smoke inhalation.
