Former corrections officer David Brady had hoped for a nice long career. The Marcy resident patrolled the halls of the nearby Mid-State Correctional Facility and drove transport for the U.S. Marshals Service, both jobs that he enjoyed. Married to a lovely wife, the 34-year-old was halfway to retirement, and "life was on track," he said. But the dangers of state prison derailed those plans. On a seemingly ordinary day in November 2009, Brady said he was patrolling a prison bathroom when he was ambushed by two inmates who were lying in wait for him.
