| Former Inmate Admits To Vile Assault On Guard |

A former inmate at the maximum-security Edmonton Institution has admitted to throwing a cup full of feces in the face of a guard who was giving him his breakfast. However, the convict is hoping for a break on sentencing after alleging he was improperly kept “in the hole” for months and was mistreated and subjected to racial slurs. Wol Wally Woul, 24, pleaded guilty to one count of assault with a weapon Wednesday in Court of Queen’s Bench. Edmonton Institution guard Clint Pickering testified he and two colleagues were serving breakfast in the prison’s segregation unit on Nov. 10, 2008, and said he went to Woul’s cell and gave him coffee through a slot in the door.
