A check on more than two dozen Bibb County registered sex offenders resulted in 9 arrests for felony and misdemeanor warrants.

Officers visited the addresses of 25 registered sex offenders and found two to be non-compliant and six were not at home after curfew, according to a news release from the U.S. Marshals Service.

Warrants will be issued for the half-dozen offenders who missed curfew, the release stated.

“Compliance checks are an important tool we use in the fight against child exploitation,” Willie Lee Richardson, U.S. Marshal for the Middle District of Georgia, said in the release.

The U.S. Marshals Service has arrested more than 37,200 fugitives for Sex Offenses, Failure to Register and Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Requirements since the Adam Walsh Act was implemented in July 2006.
