| Man Returns To Jail After Hours Free |

A 23-year-old man with a criminal history bonded out of the Alachua County jail on Monday and was back there within a few hours. Deputies said the man fought with his sister over clothing he left with her during his most recent stint behind bars. According to the Alachua County Sheriff's Office, Jared Elijah Hawkins, 23, of Lithia, was arrested earlier Saturday on the charge of failing to appear in court in a case of driving without a license. He was released from jail Monday and went to his sister's Newberry home to pick up his clothing. Deputies said the siblings got into an argument that ended when Hawkins broke into his sister's locked bedroom and began rifling through her closet. The sister told deputies that she was struggling with Hawkins over a jacket when he hit her in the face, bruising her lip. Read More. |
