An Ozark woman received probation Friday after admitting to shooting her ex-boyfriend with a shotgun in September. Sharon M. Kern, 69, shot Rex Butler at his residence at 806 N. 11th Ave. in Ozark. Kern pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 10 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections with a suspended execution of sentence. Instead, she'll have five years of supervised probation. Other conditions of the plea agreement include a substance abuse evaluation and paying Butler's medical bills. Court documents said that Butler was hospitalized at a Springfield hospital with injuries that required surgeries to repair his left forearm, his colon and intestines. Read More. |
