A Hazlehurst man on earned release supervision for a 2007 burglary conviction is accused of beating a man to death with a hammer to get a wallet authorities believe contained $1. Chance Walker, 23, is in the Copiah County Detention Center, charged with capital murder in the killing of Enrique Ixcot, 31. Officials said he allegedly beat Ixcot in the head with a hammer in the victim's driveway Saturday night. Hazlehurst Police Chief Byron Swilley said Ixcot, who was a mechanic, was found crumpled by his car.
