| MN Gets New Man To Lead Corrections |

Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- A Northland native has been appointed to the top job in Minnesota's Department of Corrections. Tom Roy was tabbed today by Governor Mark Dayton as the next Commissioner of Corrections, replacing acting Commissioner Christine Bray. Roy is a 1974 graduate of the University of Minnesota, and has worked eight years as director of Arrowhead Regional Corrections. He said he appreciates this new opportunity, and excited that it comes in his home state. "We are postured as well as any state is right now. The work that people did 20, 30 years ago has really formed us as a state in the corrections area," Roy said. "Any metric that you use, Minnesota is ranked near the best." Read More. |
