Two Woodland police officers were dispatched to the area of Fourth Street near Beamer Street for a report of an intoxicated man in the area harassing neighborhood residents around 5:47 p.m., Sunday. The reporting party asked that police attempt to locate this person before he caused a fight. According to Sgt. Jason Brooks, a K-9 officer was the first to arrive in the area. "While driving down Fourth Street, he was flagged down by a couple of citizens, one of whom pointed out the suspect trying to hide behind a telephone pole," according to Brooks. "The citizens were reporting that the suspect had been prowling in and around their homes and backyards. "The officer tried to question the suspect, who then moved quickly away from the telephone pole telling the officer that he had the wrong guy," Brooks continued. "When the suspect broke into a sprint, the officer ordered him to stop warning that he would send his dog if he did not. The suspect continued to run, so the officer released his dog, who quickly apprehended the suspect a short distance away." Read More. |
