| MI County Jail Scores Perfect At Inspection |

The Emmet County Jail has again received a perfect score on its annual jail inspection. According to Emmet County Sheriff Pete Wallin, the facility has received 100 percent compliance ratings since 2003. "Since I've been sheriff, we've never not been compliant," he said. On Jan. 4, the Michigan Department of Corrections County Jail Services Unit performed its annual inspection on the jail, which houses 103 inmates at maximum capacity and has 17 full-time employees. Brenda Ford, jail administrator, said the Michigan Department of Corrections looks for the following when performing their inspections: fire safety, adequate equipment, medical services, proper training for staff, facility design and more.
