Mother Of Murdered Son Paroled |

The Dunbar woman who pleaded guilty in 2006 to neglecting her son, Logan Goodall, who died violently at the hands of her former live-in boyfriend, has been released from prison. Pepper Dawn Eren, 32, was released from Lakin Correctional Facility on Jan. 19, said a secretary at the state Department of Corrections main office in Charleston. Eren had been sentenced to serve one to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to child neglect resulting in serious injury before a Putnam Circuit Court judge in 2006. She was released last week after serving just less than five years. The secretary said the mother hadn't committed any institutional violations that would have caused her to lose any of her "good time" accumulated. Eren, who had initially been charged with murder, agreed to testify against her live-in boyfriend, Michael K. Merrifield, the man who was later convicted of sexually abusing, then murdering, 2-year-old Logan. Read More. |
