GOOCHLAND, Va. (WAVY) - A Chesapeake woman who was an inmate at the Virginia Correctional Center for women died Wednesday when a piece of commercial laundry equipment fell on her. An official from the Virginia Department of corrections tells WAVY.com that Virginia Correctional Enterprise employees were conducting repairs on some of the commercial laundry equipment when a piece of equipment accidentally fell and trapped an inmate underneath. The inmate, Amy Teresa Madsen, 43, was taken to VCU medical center where she later died from her injuries. Read More. |
