| Inmate Death Not Suspicious |

ST. GEORGE - A 41-year-old inmate who died at Purgatory Correctional Facility Monday evening has been identified as Wilbur Moroni Jake of Cedar City. Washington County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Jake Schultz said Jake was on a work crew Monday morning that returned to the jail at about 3 p.m. "That evening they (inmates) went back to their housing unit and there were no issues at that time," Schultz said. At about 5:13 p.m. Jake was found in his bed, unresponsive, by security staff. Medical staff and paramedics arrived at the scene two minutes later, Schultz said, and immediately began CPR and used an automatic external defibrillator. Read More. |
