| MS Man Gets Life For Killing Wife |

LAUREL — A Jones County man been found guilty of murder in the shooting death of his wife in June 2009. It took a jury only 10 minutes to deliver the verdict in the murder trial of Quincy Lee Clayton, 47, who is charged with shooting and killing his wife, Alice Louise Wash Clayton in their home at 186 Brown Drive. Clayton received life in prison with the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Assistant District Attorney J. Ronald Parrish said it was the quickest verdict he’s seen in 30 years on the job. Parrish said a fight over shoes led to the victim’s death, noting she “got the death penalty.” “It was too bad she didn’t have a gun,” he said. “He attacked her with the gun.
