MONROE, Wash. - It's been a little more than a week since Officer Jayme Biendl lost her life inside the Monroe Correctional Complex, where she worked alone and unarmed. Sunday would have been her 35th birthday, and she was remembered with a moment of silence on Sunday afternoon at prisons all over the state. Biendl was remembered in other ways, too. Debborah Redden, a former Department of Corrections employee, left a stuffed horse and special message at a memorial to the fallen officer. Read More. |
