Radio and Television Shows on Reentry Available at http://media.csosa.gov WHO: Faith-based mentors and the offenders they assist. WHAT: A focus on offenders returning from prison who have made successful transitions with the assistance of faith-based mentors. WHEN: Thursday, February 10, 2011 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. WHERE: St. Luke Church Center, 4923 East Capitol St. SE, Washington, DC 20019. Parking available in the rear. WHY: Each year, approximately 2,000 offenders return from federal correctional institutions (to CSOSA supervision) to the District of Columbia. Faith-based volunteers provide support, encouragement, fellowship and resources. Many offenders credit mentors for their successful adjustment. SOSA supervises and assists 16,000 offenders on parole or probation daily. Editor’s Note: Dynamic environment (faith-based choir) plus interviews with former offenders. |
