FORT PIERCE — Former Port St. Lucie Mayor Patricia Christensen is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday afternoon to accept a negotiated plea and be sentenced to charges of official misconduct for falsification of an official record or document and improper disposition of surplus funds by a candidate. Patricia Christensen was arrested Sept. 22 and immediately resigned from office. Official misconduct is a third-degree felony punishable by up to five years in the state Department of Corrections and a $5,000 fine; disposition of surplus funds by a candidate is a first-degree misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in the county jail and a $1,000 fine.
