| Former Officer Sentenced In Sex Assault Of Teen Inmate |

A judge last Tuesday sentenced a former youth corrections officer to 15 years in prison for sexually assaulting a girl in custody. Lia Olione, 45, worked as a youth corrections officer for nearly a decade before he was charged with multiple counts of sexual assault and terroristic threatening against a 16-year-old inmate. "I just want to say that I'm sorry about what happened. What I did was wrong and it still is; for that I'm sorry and I apologize," Olione said. The victim was in the courtroom with family members. She asked a family friend to read her statement to Olione. "You made me feel shame, worthless and dirty. You made me feel like an underage prostitute. Do you know how that feels?" family friend Maeda Timson said. "I hope you rot in jail, you loser." |
