Nominations will be subject to confirmation by the Missouri Senate. Jefferson City, MO - infoZine - Gov. Jay Nixon announced his nominations to the Board of Probation and Parole and the State Board of Education. Both nominations will be subject to confirmation by the Missouri Senate. The Governor has nominated Martin Rucker, of St. Joseph, to the Board of Probation and Parole. The seven-member Board of Probation and Parole is responsible for determining whether a person confined in the Department of Corrections shall be paroled or conditionally released, and for supervising all persons on probation and parole. Rucker is a former Missouri state representative who represented the 29th District from 2005 to 2011, and was the chair of the Missouri Legislative Black Caucus. He works for the Silgan Container Corp. in St. Joseph. Rucker served on the St. Joseph Board of Education, where he chaired the personnel committee. He has had an active leadership role with community, non-profit and church organizations, including United Way, InterServ and the Community Plan. The Governor has nominated Rucker for a term ending April 3, 2016. Read More. |

Hamilton is a sports lover, a demon at croquet, where his favorite team was the Dallas Fancypants. He worked as a general haberdasher for 30 years, but was forced to give up the career he loved due to his keen attention to detail. He spent his free time watching golf on TV; and he played uno, badmitton and basketball almost every weekend. He also enjoyed movies and reading during off-season.
