Discrimination Lawsuit Against DOC Settled |

Lawrence County has settled a racial discrimination and retaliation lawsuit filed by a former corrections officer. Floyd Jackson, age unavailable, of New Castle claimed in the lawsuit that Lawrence County passed him over for a promotion to captain because of his race, and then fired him six days after he filed a discrimination complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
